Weymouth Public School Summer Reading Requirements

Students may use print, eBook and audiobooks to complete the summer reading requirement.  Although most libraries are open again for browsing and checkout of print books, there are also several virtual resources that will help you complete your summer reading requirements.

Virtual Resources:

SORA:  WHS students may borrow ebooks and audiobooks by using the SORA App.  Locate the SORA app in your school Google account’s app launcher (the waffle) and search for Weymouth High. When you are at the Explore page make sure you are searching in the MLS Commonwealth eBook Collection. The SORA App may also be downloaded to a phone or device.

Weymouth Public Libraries:  If you don’t have a public library card go to ocln.org and click on Get an eCard in the upper left hand corner. Fill out the information and the eCard number will be emailed to you. Once you get your eCard go to https://www.weymouth.ma.us/weymouth-public-libraries/pages/ebooks-downloadable-media to check out some virtual books using Libby or Hoopla.

Boston Public Library:  If you are a Massachusetts resident you can register for a Boston Public Library eCard online. A BPL eCard is a Boston Public Library card that you can sign up for online and which provides access to all online resources, including OverDrive and Hoopla.

For help with finding books to read over the summer, see one of the public librarians at the Tufts Library (46 Broad Street) or contact the WHS Library Teacher at annmarie.oneill@weymouthschools.org
