It’s Friday at 5:00 pm and I haven’t received my electronic check advice notification, where is it?

Notifications are emailed, once the Town process the final payroll which can be any day prior to the pay day.

Why is my direct deposit less this pay period?

There are a few reasons why your net pay is different:

  • Federal and MA tax changes
  • Insurance premiums increase in June checks

As a result of MA tax withholding fluctuations when Medicare tax threshold is reached. The adjustment occurs each calendar year and the timeframe varies for individual employees.

Are pay periods related to my biweekly pay?

The pay period dates on your check cover the dates of absences, work dates for hourly and daily employees, as well as any additional hours submitted by time slips. Most school employee’s checks are paid on a 21-pay or 26-pay schedule which means your annual salary is paid in 21 or 26 equal biweekly paychecks.

26 pay – September to August

21 pay – September to June

I worked 5 additional hours and it’s not reflected in my biweekly check advice, why?

The time slip may have been received after the payroll processing due date. Check with your school principal/manager to confirm the time slip was sent to Payroll.

I worked as a substitute teacher/ESP for 5 days and I was paid for 4 days. Why?

Substitutes teachers and ESP’s are paid based on the substitute pay schedule which defines the pay period in which substitute assignment dates will be paid. If you believe you are missing pay for an assignment, then you should review the substitute pay schedule and your SmartFind account.

  • If the substitute assignment you worked is in SmartFind, please email payroll@weymouthschools.org.
  • If the substitute assignment you worked is missing from SmartFind, please check with the school secretary and ask them to make a correction and notify Payroll.

I have not had an absence this school year, why are there hours listed on the accruals used on my check?

If you are a member of a bargaining group that participates in a sick bank, a donation of hours is deducted each school year.

It’s pay day and my direct deposit is not in my account; where is it?

Check with your bank. From time to time there may be a delay on the bank’s end.
