About the Library

Welcome to the Robert D. West Library
Library
Hours:
The WHS Library is officially open during the school day from 7:20 am until 2:15 pm.

Passes:
Students are admitted to the library with a study pass, or the prior approval of library staff. To receive a pass please request one between 2pm the day prior to your study and 7:30am on the day of your study. Some periods do fill up quickly.

If you have any questions you can email the library at whs-library@weymouthps.org

Resources:
The WHS Library offers students and staff a variety of educational resources both print and electronic. There are networked computer workstations with Internet access for student use as well as printers. Students may also ask to charge their own Chromebook. Students may use the book collection, reference sources (text and online), periodical collection, and the Internet. They may also borrow materials for research projects and recreational reading.

Through its membership in the Massachusetts Library System, the WHS Library provides access to a collection of Research Databases funded by the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners and the Massachusetts Library System. Students are encouraged to access these databases and the library catalog, both in school and at home, through a direct link from the WHS website (Library webpage). Through our membership in the MA Commonwealth eBook Collection, students have access to 16,000+ ebooks and audiobooks using the SORA app in your school Google account.

Ask a Librarian:
Students who need help with a research assignment may ask the School Librarian or Library Assistant for instruction, direction, or clarification on any step of the research process. Students are always welcome to ask for help with anything concerning research or the use of any of the library's resources.  Stop by the Library or email Ms. Robinson  for help with using any of the libraries resources, physical or virtual,  or with any questions.

Support the WHS Library:
The WHS Library appreciates your support. Monetary donations are used for collection development. Books may be donated in honor of a special person or event and will be marked with an appropriate bookplate. Please contact the library for more information.
