THE SCHOLARSHIP SCOOP
 
TOWN OF WEYMOUTH SCHOLARSHIP 
Any Town of Weymouth resident seeking education beyond high school at a college or institution deemed accredited by the Scholarship Committee is eligible to apply.  For example, high school seniors, citizens currently enrolled in a college program or citizens planning to return to school for additional training. In the interest of fairness, the one exception is that those applicants who have already received two awards will not be considered. Scholarship amounts range from $3000 to $500.  Scholarship applicants are judged on community involvement, academic achievement, character and financial need.

2020 WEYMOUTH ROTARY FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP
The Weymouth Rotary Foundation will be awarding scholarships totaling $20,000.  These awards are available to all graduates, including Career & Technical Education students.  The scholarships will be granted to high school seniors who most exemplify the Rotary International ideal of “ Service above Self”.  A student’s involvement in community service as a VOLUNTEER will weigh heavily in the final decision. Voluntary community service can be through church groups, scouts or other service organizations.  Qualified applicants must be a Weymouth resident and be graduating from Weymouth High School or South Shore Christian Academy.

WEYMOUTH HIGH SCHOOL
CLASS OF 2020 SCHOLARSHIP
Applications are available for all members of the class of 2020.  This one application includes many individual scholarships that will be awarded only to Weymouth High School 2020 graduates who complete the application.
ALL APPLICATIONS WILL BE NUMBERED AND MUST BE SIGNED OUT BY THE INDIVIDUAL STUDENT WITH MRS HAYESIN THE MAROON GUIDANCE OFFICE.

2020 WEYMOUTH EDUCATORS ASSOCIATION SCHOLARSHIP
The Weymouth Educators Association will award two $500. Scholarships.  To be eligible you must be pursuing a career in the field of education--school counseling, guidance, administration, family support specialist etc. and answer two questions in essay form.
APPLICATIONS ARE AVAILABLE IN BOTH GUIDANCE OFFICES
PLEASE SUBMIT YOUR COMPLETED APPLICATION & ESSAY TO MRS. HAYES IN THE MAROON GUIDANCE OFFICE.

THE REBEKAH ASSEMBLY OF MASSACHUSETTS, OF THE INDEPENDENT ORDER OF ODD FELLOWS SCHOLARSHIP
This $1000 scholarship will be awarded to qualified seniors who plan to further their education by attending a 2 or 4 year college program.  The application lists the requirements for this scholarship.

MARK BAVIS LEADERSHIP FOUNDATION
The family and friends of Mark Bavis has established a foundation in Mark’s name to preserve his memory and to perpetuate the principle by which he lived everyday and through which he touched the lives of many. Selected recipients will receive annual grants ranging from $1,000 to $5,000 to be used as specifically requested for school tuition, summer programs and other appropriate extracurricular activities.

ROCKLAND TRUST BANK STUDENT SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
11-$2,500
Applicants must live within Rockland Trust’s service area. Applicants must be entering college for the first time, enrolled as a full time student in an undergraduate course of study which offers courses beyond the high school level.  Enrollment only at accredited colleges, universities and community colleges will be considered.
Applicants must fall in the top 50% of their graduating class.

KECHES LAW GROUP SCHOLARSHIP
Keches Law Group’s injury lawyers are proud to announce the second annual scholarship award program with two $1,500 scholarships.
You must be a US citizen or permanent resident.
 Be accepted to, or currently enrolled in an accredited college, university, or graduate program within the United States. 
Demonstrate good character and high initiative.
Any applicable federal, state and local taxes on the scholarship will be the sole responsibility of the recipient.

WEYMOUTH GIRLS SOCCER SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION
Scholarships will be given to female graduating seniors from Weymouth High School, pursuing education beyond high school.  Past participation with Weymouth Girl Soccer will be given preference.

THE JULIE RODICK DREAMCATCHER SPORTS SCHOLARSHIP
The Julie Rodrick Dreamcatcher Scholarship Fund offiers financial support to Weymouth High School athletes who are in need of financial assistance in paying athletic fees in an effort to increase participation in athletics. 
Recipients shall be a 2020 graduating senior from Weymouth High School and pursuing education beyond high school and have participated in 12 seasons of any sport offered at WHS.

SYRIAN-LEBANESE WOMEN’S CLUB OF GREATER BOSTON SCHOLARSHIP
This scholarship is to aid women of Syrian or Lebanese origin, graduation from high school, intending to pursue a four-year college education, and residing in Massachusetts within a fifty-mile radius of Boston

SOUTH  SHORE BAY BAND
Music Achievement Scholarship Application
This award is offered to any high school music student planning to attend a college or university in the next academic year.  Applicants will be judged on information provided on the completed application form. The award amount may vary from year to year, depending on the availability of funds, bus has historically averaged around $300 per recipenient

2020 FALLON AMBULANCE SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
EMT training can lead to several career paths as well as provide a great foundation for your college career. Two 2020 graduating Weymouth High School  recipients will receive full sponsorship of EMT training at an Accredited EMT training institute that is designated by the Fallon Ambulance Service.

JANE HOLBROOK JEWELL SCHOLARSHIP
The Jane Holbrook Jewell Scholarship is awarded to one Weymouth resident who is pursuing post secondary education at an accredited college, junior college, university or professional school.  The scholarship award is a one time payment in the amount of $500.
The recipient will be selected by the committee based on their tangible accomplishments in the area of history or drama. Examples include, but are not limited to, volunteering at a museum, a research report or publication focused on history or drama or participation in a theatrical performance.

LT. JUNE T MURPHY SCHOLARSHIP
The Massachusetts Association of Women in Law Enforcement (MAWLE) is pleased to announce the Lieutenant June T Murphy Scholarship-to be awarded to a student who pursues a degree in Criminal Justice.

OLD COLONY WOMEN’S SOCCER SCHOLARSHIP 2020
OCWSL is happy to be able to support graduating high school female soccer players that live in Abington, Braintree and Weymouth by offering a $250(one per town)to further support their academic and career goals.
Qualified applicants must complete the scholarship application, which includes your high school transcript and resume and submit a 500 word or less essay.

THE AMELIA G ARMSTRONG GRANT
The Delta Kappa Gamma Society International is the largest professional honorary organization in the world. Established in 1929, the purposes are to advance the professional interest of women in education and to honor women who demonstrate a potential for distinctive service in the field of education. The Amelia G Armstron Grant($2000) is awarded yearly to a high school senior female who is pursuing a career in education.

CHESNA SOCCER JAMBOREE SCHOLARSHIP 
The Chesna Soccer Jamboree is an annual one day soccer jamboree in honor of Weymouth Police Sergeant Michael Chesna who lost his life while protecting our community on July 15, 2018.
50% of funds raised are reserved for students at WHS and Hanover HS.
Interested parties shall produce the following to be eligible for this scholarship:
Completed Application Form, proof of a minimum 3.0 GPA & acceptance into a college degree program with a major in criminal justice, law enforcement or Homeland Security.

THE STEPHEN PHILLIPS MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
The Stephen Phillips Memorial Fund offers renewable, 4-year scholarships to students from New England with financial need who display academic excellence, a commitment to serving others in school, the community or at home and a strong work ethic.  Awards are limited to residents of New England states and range from $3,000 to $18,000.
