Special Education Parent Advisory Council
Weymouth Special Education Parent Advisory Council (SEPAC)
The purpose of the Weymouth SEPAC is to provide guidance and support to families and caregivers of students with special education needs.
They will also:

Promote and educate Weymouth Public School and the community on Inclusive Education, that regardless of any challenges students are placed in the Least Restrictive Environment and are fully included and supported in the classroom and school sponsored activities such as before/after school clubs, sports and arts.

Provide a network for families/caregivers and a forum for sharing ideas and information.

Seek information about programs and resources that may be available within the community, as well as those from local, state, and national organizations that can provide support for Students with special education needs and the families/caregivers that support them.

Provide educational opportunities for parents/caregivers to learn about additional ways to support their students and to advocate more effectively.

Advise the Weymouth Public Schools on matters that pertain to the education and safety of students that require special education support or services.

Meet with Weymouth Public Schools to include Administration, Human Resources, Finance and building administrators or designees to participate effectively in the planning, development, and evaluation of Special education programs.

SEPAC and the Weymouth Public Schools will work collaboratively with families, including those of multicultural backgrounds, to improve educational outcomes for all Students with special education needs.

Communicate regularly with the Executive Director of Student Services or designee to discuss concerns of parents/caregivers and activities of SEPAC.

Foster and build an effective working relationship between the school committee, administration, educators, staff, caregivers and families.
