Fall Sports Update was presented
- Fall Sports Update-Varsity record
- Cheer: Bay State Conference champions
- Boys’ Soccer: strong in Bay State Conference
- 11 all stars in Bay State conference and 5 honorable mentions- Boston Globe All-Scholastics on December 18th (tbd)
- 1,000pts Cori May swimmer- beat Braintree again this year
- 5 school records broken in swimming “future is bright for this team”
- Unified Basketball team undefeated, 6-0; 40 participants
- Boys Cross Country – 5 qualifiers. Girls doing well too.
- Football: consolation game against Quincy tomorrow night; home vs. Walpole on Thanksgiving Day
- Chapman declared Unified School; Bocce team doing well
- 6 collegiate athletes signed yesterday
- D3 level signing in May
- Captain leadership training workshop. Magnitude strength and power relationship. Mindset 360. Students need to know what captain means and be prepared for that. “How to deal with stressful situations as a leader”. Bi- weekly check ins. Guide them through the leadership role.
- Active Minds Chapter vs. Needham this year.
- The dungeon- training with the AD. In the afternoons 3 days a week. Sophomores training Freshmen on how the dungeon works.
- Mental Health Conference at Gillette last week- 12 students taken.
- Feature athlete of the week. WBZ filming (Weymouth alum host) Raf Alcantara; Football, Wrestling, Rugby. Comeback story will air in Dec.
Middle School Update
- Chapman middle school and youth updates. Bocce underway.
- Middle school cross country. 50 participants. Wait list on board Andrea Hicks handling that well. South Shore League champions this year. Future is bright for the runners.
- Feeder program. How can we get creative with the varsity team members to coach middle schoolers and prepare for the sports that they will encounter? Maybe volunteer hours.
- Cheerleaders- Cheer with a Wildcat Dec. 18th
- Roster break down
- 430 athletes in the fall.
- High success rate with user fees; Siobhan and AD had great system
- Collected $14,050 at gates
- Financial aid – $1,000 gift. Did not have Dreamcatcher for the fall. $1,575 - 44 financial assistance applications for this fall.
- 36 athletes less than last year
- Noting inventory with uniforms.
- Team photo day- returned uniform to Siobhan after. Less chasing for uniforms.
- Purchased new boys' and girls' basketball uniforms
- Looking at all uniforms for Spring
- Girls Rugby in Spring- new uniforms headed their way, both boys &girls
- Gus Perez suggested celebrating student athletes via SC meetings
- Social media great success- Kelly Powers piggybacking off of AD socials
- 80% of teams moved up to post postseason this fall
- Jeremy Burm- local event supervisor- pay scale is set. Will be posting tomorrow for winter season
- Point person in charge when AD not there. Coverage at every event.
- Police officer available for certain events
- Booster activity- reinvigorated. Parents are doing a great job
- Bring student/trophies to Dec. meeting
- Captain’s training, winter coaches- handout with questions. Get everyone on the same page for Dec try-outs. Handout is new.
- Master calendar- shared with facilities, maintenance
- ArbiterLive function that the public can pull up. Adopted by the MIAA a few years ago. That’s where all the varsity games are locked in. Link on the athletic page on WHS.

- No Freshmen hockey team yet- not enough interest
- Future looks good for girls hockey
Athletics Budget Update
- Kristin Kelly, Cristine O’Connor, and Alyssa Bosse - Athletics Sponsorship program
- 30,000 for sponsorship banners
- Location for sponsorship matters- double-sided along higher fence for visibility
- Banners in the gym above the bleachers
- Can sponsor an athlete
- DreamCatcher- went over the details recently. Need some more volunteers. Thursday day along the route. Need people along the race. 2-3 water stations. Student athlete singer. 150-200 runners - Wed 3-5pm , 5-7:30pm, (maroon café at WHS) Thurs 6-9am. Ask at Town Wide
- If students volunteer, they get community service hrs.
- Athletic trainer Brian Beaudoin is new- not doing admin work
