II. ORGANIZATION OF THE WEYMOUTH SCHOOL COMMITTEE
- Election of School Committee Chairperson
- Election of School Committee Vice Chairperson
- Appointment of School Committee Secretary
- Administration of Oath of Office for Chair and Vice-Chair
Per Town Charter Section 8-10 Oath of Office Mayor, Councilors and School Committee Members: If the town clerk is unable to preside during such election the member senior in years of service on the school committee shall preside during such election. If two or more members are equally senior in years of service on the school committee the member senior both in years of service and age shall preside. The chair and the vice-chair shall be sworn by the town clerk, or, in the case of the absence of the town clerk, by any person qualified to take oaths or affirmations.

WEYMOUTH SCHOOL COMMITTEE MEETING

Members In Attendance: Tracey Nardone, Chair; Mary-Ellen Devine, Secretary; Danielle Graziano, Kelly McClean, Cynthia Lyons, Ashley Dickerman
Members Absent: Mayor Molisse
Also Present: Melanie Curtin, Superintendent; Brian Smith, Assistant Superintendent; Lindsey Fratolillo, Assistant Superintendent
The meeting was called to order at 7:08pm
ORGANIZATION OF THE WEYMOUTH SCHOOL COMMITTEE
A. Election of School Committee Chairperson
B. Election of School Committee Vice Chairperson
C. Appointment of School Committee Secretary
Mrs. Nardone expressed her excitement for the future of the committee. Each member introduced themselves. All members have children that have graduated, attended or are attending Weymouth Public Schools.
The current chair opened up nominations for Chairperson, Vice Chairperson and Secretary.
Ms. Graziano made a nomination for Mrs. Nardone to be School Committee Chairperson. The motion was seconded by Mrs. Devine. Roll call vote. Motion passed unanimously.
Mrs. Nardone made a motion to nominate Ms. Graziano as School Committee Vice Chairperson. Motion was seconded by Mrs. McClean. Roll call vote. Motion passed 5-1, Ms. Dickerman voted no.
Subsequent motion by Ms. Dickerman to nominate Ms. Devine as School Committee Vice Chairperson. The motion did not receive a second. Motion by Mrs. Nardone to nominate Mrs. Devine as School Committee Secretary. The motion was seconded by Ms. Graziano. Roll call vote. Motion passed unanimously.
Mrs. Nardone, Mrs. Devine, and Ms. Graziano all accepted their nominations.
Mrs. Nardone shared that this upcoming year will be fiscally challenging and that discussions should be conducted with respect and professionalism and that it’s ok for the committee to agree to disagree.
The Chair will be in touch with members in the next few days to discuss sub committees. Members must participate on at least 3 committees.
The Meeting adjourned at 7:19pm on the motion of Ms. Graziano, seconded by Mrs. Devine.
