Meeting Minutes

1. Introduction of Interim Athletic Director
   a. Introduced to Kristen Kelly, interim AD
   b. New concussion protocol (Sway) implemented by new athletic trainer
   c. Volunteered for the Medical Sportsmanship Committee
    
2. Review of prior meeting questions and requests
   a. HR and Athletics dept. has created procedures and they will be shared out with staff this fall
    
3. Game coverage procedures
   a. Will keep using the spreadsheet created in the spring and update as necessary
    
4. Booster procedures/recommended guidelines and resources
   a. Work in progress; will have updates following the first booster meeting
   b. Meeting with Booster parents August 27th, 6pm Humanities Center
    
5. Softball field/scoreboard status
   a. Scoreboard is up and ready to be used
    
6. Update on Athletic website launch
   a. Progress has been made; updates are on-going
    
7. Uniform refresh cycle
   a. Taking a look to recalibrate and plan for immediate needs
    
8. Communication and logistics re: off-campus practices
   a. Will work with Transportation Department to plan for bus passes; will proactively communicate with families
    
9. Athletics budget update
   a. Athletic Fee Scholarships: Dreamcatcher scholarship program
      i. Last year (’24-’25) Dreamcatcher covered $23,750
      ii. Current structure is that WHS donates the site to the Dreamcatcher organization
      iii. Parents, school administration, and school committee are interested in seeing this fundraiser live on; parents expressed interest in taking over the Dreamcatcher race
    
10. Athletics sponsorship program update
    a. Kickoff will be early September/no sales or solicitations yet
     
11. Public Comment
    a. Dennis Jones talked about sports offerings at the middle school
       i. Competitive and intramural offerings
