It was shared that the Chair and Dr. Sherlock-Shangraw worked with the Superintendent on goals for the upcoming year.

Student Learning

-MCAS-students meeting or exceeding for all testing grades and content; testing at or above state percentages; results received late summer, early fall IXL, Dibels, and IReady are other assessments used to measure success

-Curriculum & Instruction alignment with standards (PE included)

-Thoughtful PD development

-New Assistant Superintendent Fratolillo will be able to assist with internal data points, alignment, successful completion and STEAM library time

Request was made for real data of numbers given (not just exceeds or meets) and that schools report out on how many students are at grade level or not if need be. Focus on achievement in civics and literacy.

Professional Practice

-Create and develop a clear vision for the district that promotes student belonging and equal opportunities for all students

-Collaborative relationships with parents and families; becoming informed parents. Townwide Parent and School Councils, and SEPAC can collaborate.

-PD for staff representation, focus of what is inclusive practice for various staff

District Improvement

-Developing budget that aligns with district vision and goals; shifting/reallocating expenses for growing needs (not just adding to the budget but shifting)

-Communication-’unreasonable hospitality’, transparent, rebuilding of trust, communication platform, posting of org charts

-Administrator coaching model-prioritizes growth oriented feedback and continuous professional learning; researched based methodologies

Evidence for administrator coaching could include survey results, attendance, cycle of training. Update can be given at the formative assessment.

-Evaluation Schedule

The timeline was reviewed.

Goals established in early April, voted upon in May, formative assessment given in December, End of cycle report with evidence given the following April (2026), committee review at meeting of the whole for clarifying questions at the end of April (2026) before final evaluation presentation and vote.

Suggestions made:

-Have goals and performance ratings in 1 PDF.

-Have elementary schools present school improvement plans on 2-3 nights (3-4 each night) with testing data including number of students at, above, or below grade level

-District vision be included on weekly messaging The Superintendent will include in her update that goals were discussed in the meeting of the whole prior to the evenings regular school committee meeting.
