What is a School Psychologist?

A School Psychologist is a mental health and psychoeducational service provider who supports both special education and regular education students within the school setting. A school psychologist works collaboratively with teachers, parents, service providers, administrators and outside agencies to design and implement support services and interventions to support students' educational, social, emotional and behavioral needs. The School Psychologist is a member of the Student Intervention Team and is the member of the evaluation team responsible for psychoeducational assessments when a student is suspected to have a disability that impacts their ability to make progress in school.
