Dear Weymouth School Community,
My name is Robert Wargo, and I am honored and privileged to lead Weymouth Public Schools as your Superintendent.
I’ve had the unique opportunity to meet, and work with, many dedicated and talented members of our school community through my role as the Assistant Superintendent of Instructional Services and Support here at Weymouth Public Schools. For those of you who I have not yet met, I would like to share a little bit about myself.
I grew up in Wellesley, Massachusetts, and I am a proud husband and father to three children. From my early days working in education, my role as a parent was instrumental in my professional drive. As an educator, I strived to do for my students the same I would want others to do for my children. That philosophy has stuck with me through my career as I’ve aspired to have a positive impact on not only a classroom, or school building, but an entire district.
During my time working in education I have held many different positions, including guidance counselor, teacher, Dean, Assistant Principal, Principal, and Assistant Superintendent in a number of districts. I have had the opportunity to work with many very talented and forward-thinking professionals on an array of inspiring initiatives. I’ve worked with students at all different levels, and had the opportunity to participate in many initiatives from athletics, to diversity, equity and inclusion, to instruction and learning. During my time in Scituate I had an opportunity to travel twice to China to forge relationships and strengthen cultural and academic partnerships with our sister schools. These experiences have provided me with a unique perspective I believe will positively benefit our school community.
During my time in Weymouth I have enjoyed working with our devoted and skilled staff, students, and families. The “Wildcat Pride” that exists in our school community is truly infectious. I will strive to build upon the existing energy, optimism, and momentum to take Weymouth Public Schools to its maximum potential.
My goal for our district is that every new resident will look to Weymouth Public Schools for a top tier opportunity for their children. We’ll work to design, build, and create state of the art schools and facilities, like Chapman Middle School, scheduled to open in the Fall of 2022. We will continue to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to ensure safe quality programs, support services, and enrichment opportunities are available to all our students.
I believe together our opportunities are limitless, and I look forward to working in partnership with our students, staff, families, leadership team, School Committee, elected officials, and the entire Weymouth community.
Have a wonderful summer, I can’t wait to see everyone in September!
