2025-2026 Bus Transportation Information
To request transportation for your child for the 2025-2026 school year, you must complete and submit this form by June 20, 2025. Applications submitted after this date may result in being placed on a wait list. This form is to be completed every school year that your student attends Weymouth Public Schools.
Walk Zones: Walk zones are designated distances students walk to school without bus transportation. Grades KG-5 has an established walk zone of .5 miles, Grades 6-8 has a walk zone of .75 miles and grades 9-12 has a walk zone of 1 mile. Students inside the walk zone will not be offered bus transportation.
Applications: You will need to submit a separate application for each child requesting bus transportation. No student will be assigned or allowed to ride without a submitted and fully completed bus application. If you submitted an application and decide not to use the bus it is your responsibility to notify your school by email before October 1 or you will be charged for the seat and no refund will be given.
Payments: Payments must be made in full by October 1. If full payment is not made by October 1, 2025 you will not qualify for bus transportation until payment is received. Students in grades kindergarten through sixth grade that live over 2 miles from the school (per Google Maps) are free. No bus I.D. will be distributed until payment has been made.
Parents/Guardians of Kindergarten and first grade students: Parents/Guardians are required to be present with their kindergarten and first grader at the bus stop. If a parent or guardian is not present at the bus stop at drop off, the student may be returned to school and parent/guardian will be responsible for picking up at school.
Parents/Guardians of 7th grade through 12th grade students: All 7th to 12th graders are considered payriders. There is no transportation offered to students in grade seven through grade twelve beyond the payrider program.
Bus Assignment Information: In order to ensure adequate space on buses, all students must ride the buses to which they are assigned. Students will be picked up and dropped off at their assigned stops only based upon residency. Bus assignment information will be listed in Aspen.
Bus transportation is a privilege and may be withdrawn by the Principal. Bus stop change requests will only be looked at in extreme circumstances. There are no guarantees that a request will be honored.
