Requesting Special Education Testing for Private/Homeschool Students
To request special education testing for your pre-school-aged child, please learn more on the Weymouth Early Childhood Center's website.
If you believe your child has a disability, you may request special education testing. To get started, please complete the Family Connection registration. Once your account is complete, contact your neighborhood school to confirm that your application has been received and to discuss next steps. If you have any difficulties creating a Family Connection account or are referring on behalf of a family, please contact the Registration Office at 781-335-1460 x28324.
Begin the Process:
Please review the steps and requirements below before getting started:
- Begin the pre-registration process online by creating or accessing your Family Connection account and supplying information about your student(s).
Please be sure to register for “Testing for Special Education Service ONLY”.
- Contact your neigborhood school (listed below) after you have submitted your application. The school's administrative assistant will review your application for accuracy and discuss the referral process with you. If you are unsure of which school to contact, please call the Special Education office at 781-335-1460 x 28340.
- Upon receiving the signed consent form, the evaluations and assessments will be scheduled with our school specialist.
Registration/Residency Requirements
Parents and guardians requesting testing must be prepared to show Weymouth residency. Please prepare the following documents to submit to your neighborhood school. The school administrative assistant will contact you to schedule an appointment to complete registration.
- Required Documents and Forms: Requirements Checklist
- Proof of Residency: Proof of Residency Checklist
- Health Documentation: Immunization records, student physical, and any other relevant medical forms
This process ensures that all special education referrals are handled in a consistent and timely manner and that parents and guardians are kept informed throughout the process.
