Counseling Services
Welcome to WPS Counseling!
The Weymouth Public Schools counseling department is committed to contributing to an inclusive and equitable educational environment for all Weymouth students. Through collaboration with students, families, and staff, the department utilizes culturally responsive practices to develop students’ social-emotional and self-advocacy skills in order to be successful in and out of the classroom. The counseling department uses a comprehensive, holistic, and data-driven approach for supporting all students to reach their highest personal and academic potential.
We offer a variety of services, including:
- Academic planning and course selection guidance
- College & career readiness and planning
- Social and emotional skill development
- Crisis intervention
- Short-term, evidence-based counseling intervention
- Targeted small group counseling
- Referrals to community-based providers
- Consultation with teachers and staff
Each of our school buildings has at least one dedicated counselor available to provide support and guidance. Parents and guardians are encouraged to contact their child’s school directly to connect with a counselor as needed.
