Parent Information
Parental involvement is critical to the process of providing special education services to students. The Department of Education not only encourages, but requires parental involvement in order to enter a child into special education, and at all decision making TEAM meetings. The "Parent Information Brochure" printed by the DESE outlines parental rights and responsibilities and can be obtained by clicking on the DESE link below. Your child's TEAM chairperson is your direct liaison for special education. The Administrator of Special Education can also provide general information regarding educational law and due process rights. The Weymouth Special Education Parent Advisory Council provides support and informational networking to all parents of children with disabilities.
