The Graphics Communications program provides training in all aspects of visual design and production for both print and multi-media. Students are introduced to a variety of software programs such as Adobe Creative Suite. Including: InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Dreamweaver, and Flash. This experience also serves as a solid background for those interested in learning web page design. Principles of design and color theory, copy preparation, desktop publishing, digital photography and illustration, offset plate making, camera work, film developing and offset printing are emphasized. State-of-the-art equipment is used to offer student training that is current and applicable in the marketplace.
Upon graduation, students are prepared to pursue jobs in layout and design, desktop publishing, illustration, digital photography, web design, plate making, press operations and binding. In addition, students go on to earn degrees at local colleges, including art colleges. Long-term career opportunities exist in the Printing Industry, as well as, Marketing Communications/Advertising, Web and Interactive Design and Education.
