Automotive

Program Description:

The Automotive Technology Program at Weymouth High School is a NATEF certified program in the state of Massachusetts. This means students are on track for ASE certification. This nationally recognized credential is an open door for worldwide employment in the automotive industry. Experienced graduates are sought-after technicians who are encouraged to continue both certification and training in a post-secondary institution with a major manufacturer,  such as BMW, Ford, Chrysler, or GM, as a specialty. The training on the secondary level is intensive. Strong mathematical and computer skills are a necessity. Initial training is done in simulation through the use of mock-ups and training stations. Weymouth High School students from the Automobile Technology Program participate in the Skills USA program and compete against other automotive students from across the state winning gold, silver, or bronze medals.
