New Notification System
Weymouth has subscribed to a new notification system called School Messenger because AlertNow’s parent company has stopped supporting the AlertNow site.
The experience of receiving broadcasts (phone calls and email messages) should not be substantially different for families under the new system. However, not all the functionality of School Messenger is available during the initial transition. Parents will be hearing from the school district sometime during September about the simultaneous roll-out of the Contact Manager website and the text messaging option for district broadcasts.
Receiving text messages from the district will be a new option for parents who agree to it on the Contact Manager website. This website corresponds to AlertNow’s AlertNowAccess website, a portal which allowed parents to set their preferences for receiving messages. There was no way to transfer parent preferences from one system to another, so we find ourselves having to start from scratch with Contact Manager. Until the rollout is complete, families will receive all calls and emails sent to them from the district. Please bear with us in this regard and know that we will make this roll-out a top priority.
Thank you in advance for your cooperation and attention to this matter.
