The state tournaments for winter team sports begin this week and Weymouth will host the following first round games:

Monday Feb 27 Girl's Basketball vs Taunton 7:00 PM @ WHS

Tuesday Feb 28 Girl's Hockey vs Marblehead 4:00 PM @ Connell

Thursday March 1 Boy's Basketball vs Mansfield 7:00 PM @ WHS

The boys earned a hard-fought BSC battle in their final regular season home game.  The defense and senior S. Mansfield were able to shutout the Braintree offense - with Mansfield providing some spectacular saves for the Wildcats.  The team will travel to Lynn to finish the regular season vs St. Mary's next Wednesday.

The Lady Wildcats improved to 11 and 8 on the season with a victory over Brookline.  The ladies will travel to Braintree for the regular season finale before preparing for the Division One State Tournament.

The boys improved to 16 and 2 with an exciting last second victory at Brookline.  Senior D. Lugay scored the game winner at the buzzer fro the Wildcats.  the team will host Braintree on Thursday evening.

Congratulations to junior S. Murphy on his fantastic performance at the Division One State Wrestling Tournament - hosted by Weymouth this past weekend.  Murphy defeated his first two opponents on Friday night before electrifying the crowd with a 23 second pin in the State Semi-Final on Saturday morning.  His performance qualified him for the All-State Championships February 24th and 25th.

The ladies earned their eleventh win of the season with a big win over Brookline at the Connell Rink.  The team will travel to Braintree for the final regular season game before entering the State Tournament which will begin February 27.

The wrestling team will host the Division One State Tournament this Friday and Saturday at WHS.  Four Weymouth wrestlers qualified for the State Tournament by placing in their respective weight classes last weekend in the South Sectional Tournament at Durfee High School.  Juniors J. Conway (4th at 106) and S. Murphy (2nd at 170) along with sophomores K. Tambi (4th at 152) and C. Naeglin (3rd at 182) will represent Weymouth this weekend.  Wrestling will begin at 4:30 on Friday through the quarter finals and will begin at 10:00 AM on Saturday with the State Finals set for 6:00 PM.

The boys improved to 14 and 2 with an exciting victory on the road.  The team will host Needham this Sunday with Freshmen at 1:45, JV 3:15, and Varsity at 5:00 PM.

The girls defeated Needham to improve to 10-6-2.  The team will host Brookline on Saturday at 10 AM.

The Lady Wildcats defeated Milton 41-24 to improve to 10 and 6 - qualifying them for the post season.  The team will travel to Newton North on Tuesday.

The Lady Wildcats continue to roll as they defeated Newton on the road to improve to 9-4-2.  The team will travel to Needham on Wednesday.

The boys defeated Milton on the road in a thrilling comeback victory.  At 13 and 1 the team will host Newton North on Tuesday in a potential BSC title game.  Go Weymouth!!

The Lady Wildcats clinched the first tournament birth in the program's fourth year of existence with a hard-fought 4-4 tie vs. Milton. At 8-4-4 the team will travel to Newton North on Saturday.

The Lady Wildcats defeated the first place Lady Rebels of Walpole to improve to 9 and 6.  The team will host Milton on Friday night with their eyes on a State Tournament birth!

The boys defeated Walpole 70 - 54 on the road to earn their twelfth win of the season.  The team will travel to Milton on Friday.
